Migrating old device to a new device

I am planning on getting an Pixel 6a and migrating my Pixel 4a to this new device.

Now, I understand that the seedvault backup is deprecated and being replaced by a new native feature.

Is that the only way to migrate devices in GrapheneOS?

bayesian seedvault while available will backup what it can, however due to it's reliability issues and lack of maintenance certain apps will unfortunately fail to be backed up.

Best to use a seedvault backup to a USB drive alongside backing up data using the internal methods each app you rely on provide, such as KeePassDX exporting the database, exporting Aegis data, exporting contacts to .vcf, and so on and so forth as examples.

I will be doing the same process.

What about GOS Settings like PIN scrambling etc.
Does seedvault backup/restore those?

bayesian it is listed, however as I do and would be best practice you should ensure you work through your new/restored devices settings to ensure they are setup or restored appropriately/correctly anyway.

I did pixie 3 to pixie 6 when it came out... All manually 💪 Not too hard and I like to be in control 👠
