Hi,
I'd like to know if the theft detection option works in GOS with the new version of Android 15, if it's worth activating it or not?
Thanks in advance.

r134a I know this was discussed before, but some additional information would be helpful, I think.
On my GOS P9P with sandboxed Google apps, the anti-theft options are listed in settings and can be enabled. Do those options not work on GOS?

It could be that when the anti-theft code tries to take anti-theft actions that are privileged that it will fail. That would be consistent with this thread: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/15034-theft-detection-lock-and-offline-device-lock-coming-to-more-android-phones
Or, if you've enabled the feature, experimentation might be revealing?
spammerofspam if i had any more information i would be glad to provide it. Currently that's all i know from official sources.
As @de0u mentioned, if u see these options, probably they will need privileged acces to sensors and googles 'ai'-implementation to anti-theft which isn't present in AOSP, and consequently not in GrapheneOS. I'm not sure if it is implemented in play services, and if present, not sure if it functions on grapheneOS.
If u have the ability to test these options on your GrapheneOS installation with play services, please report back on the functionality.
