Android Auto problem to see my apps

I have installed Android Auto from GOS app store and several map apps from Aurora store. Android Auto is working fine, but I can not see/ use my map apps within it. Any workaround for that? Or do I have to install the maps from google play (which I haven't yet logged into and prefer not to do)?
In one thread someone talked about changing the app info about the place, where the apps are installed from. But I cant figure out how to do this.

gerpi Android Auto only sees apps that were installed through the Play Store. As far as I know there is no work around for this.
