Usage of owner profile

Hey all,

I've been using GrapheneOS for about a month now (thanks P9 pro) and I'm thinking if I missed something about my approach how to use the owner profile.

My intention is, that I'm not using the owner profile at all. Except for the overall android settings which are only possible in the owner profile. There are no apps installed, except the preinstalled ones.

I created several profiles:
-Usage for my daily doing (Google Services for Notification installed),
-Financial Stuff (Google Playstore installed - due to my bank app),
-Google (Maps for vacation and stuff) and
-Work (SIM2)

Is my understanding right, that the only thing I'm missing is that I can not directly install apps to other profiles through the owner profile, if they are not installed on the owner profile? So I need to install them how often I'm using them on different profiles.
Am I overlooked something else?

PS: Thanks for this wonderful project - I'm facing no issue so far and it works flawless.

I don't use user profiles right now, since for me the new Private Space is enough (before A15 I used a work profile). But this bullet point made me curious:

Drimagon -Work (SIM2)

Can you actually assign SIMs to specific user profiles? That would make me rethink my setup.

One potential problem of installing apps in profiles directly instead of the owner profile would be that if you restrict background activity of those profiles, their apps won't get auto-updated while you are in other profiles. The owner profile on the other hand has always background activity enabled.

This is true, but I'm aware of that and check updates regulary in my financial and work profile. I'm not using the google profile that much. As I said only on vacation or when I really need google maps. I'm trying to use open-source apps instead on my usage profile.

This feature is what I would like to have. But I didn't find a solid solution atm, but I thought that it might work with Tasker or something like that.
