angela I am not seeing a way to pause this or stop this update and it uses up all my bandwidth, making other uses (such as video conferencing) not possible. Why can't there be a pause button for at least a few hours? This is disruptive.
matchboxbananasynergy angela There are controls. You can control the kind of network updates happen on, you can have it check only when it's plugged into a charger, etc. You can find the settings at Settings > System > System Updates.
splattergames angela you should be able to stop the process by force quitting the system updater in Settings -> Apps -> 3-dot menu in the upper right corner -> show system apps -> search for 'system updater' and force quit. It's definitely not an ideal solution, but you can already restrict a few settings regarding system updates, like permitted networks and charging as a requirement.
doublefree angela true for the Android 15 update which is comparable big. The normal updates have very tiny deltas which are downloaded almost instantly.
flighty_sloth angela Just a thought, you could put off hitting restart on the update notification until you have time to let it finish.
de0u angela Setting the updater to run only when charging reduces disruption a lot. The downside is maybe being late on a critical security update.
