Some apps, especially dating apps, force the user to share their current location. Most apps don't even work properly when the inaccurate location option is selected. The app will simply deny the user access. In addition, many dating apps offer a premium feature that includes a travel mode. This travel mode allows the user to set their in-app location to a different location.
The former (forced location permission) is a massive privacy issue. The latter (travel mode) would simply be nice to simulate directly from the phone to allow GrapheneOS to skip the premium charge (and the required payment options are usually a privacy issue as well).
Therefore, I would like to see a Location Scopes option that allows me to simply choose between "random location" and "fixed location". Instead of the file picker (Storage Scopes), I get a map that allows me to simulate location access with a fake location.
Is Play Integrity a significant threat to break such spoofing? I would not assume that dating apps are more secure than most banking apps and they still work fine.
What do you think about this?
