Obtainium, F-Droid Basic, or other for installing F-Droid exclusive apps?

I use the Play Store for most apps already. So far, all of the apps I use that aren't available on the Play Store are only available on F-Droid or a third-party F-Droid Repo, such as Mull Browser.

Does it make sense to use Obtainium and pull from these F-Droid repos for this or just use F-Droid Basic? (Unless I should use another F-Droid client)? What's the difference in terms of privacy/security?

Can't say whether Fdroid Basic has any advantages (privacy/security wise over Obtainium), but at the very least Obtainium makes more sense if you're also installing apps from Github, gitlab, etc. and thus Obtainium can be used as a single hub for your apps.

If the app is only available on F-Droid / third party F-Droid repo, use F-Droid Basic and use the third party repo rather than the main repo if available.

If the app is available on Github then install the APK first from Github then auto-update it using Obtanium. Be sure to check the hash using AppVerifier which can be installed from Accrescent (available on the GrapheneOS app store).

I use F-Droid Basic, but I use F-Droid's own repository as my primary app store, since F-Droid is better suited for my threat model than Google Play. I need the assurance the binaries corresponds to published source, since backdoors inserted intentionally or not by app developers is a big threat for me. Obtainium obviously wouldn't give me that assurance, nor would using a custom F-Droid repo.
