faxe Why does it sound dangerous if I get a new phone in september 2026 when my current device is supported until october 2026?
Sorry, I didn't mean dangerous as in "the phone is not safe". But a dangerous bet.
If in 2026 you like what Google has to offer or not, you're not going to have an option. It's either the new model at whatever price they choose to set or the potentially buggy v1 of the new architecture. Or find someone who'll sell you an aged older phone with reduced life.
And, yes, $3000 is hyperbole, but what our sarcasm-impaired friends might be missing is that Google has been increasing prices by $100 every year. $600 for a Pixel 7, $700 for a Pixel 8, $800 for a Pixel 9.
It's now a ridiculous $1.320 to buy a 512gb Pro (the actual Pro, not the mini pro), almost double what it was last year for the 7.
