Bluetooth Low Energy Privacy Extensions?

I did read the last Posts from GrapheneOS on Mastodon about the bad Security of portable Routers and everything about how second GrapheneOS Phone with Sim-Card would be more secure. With airplane mode + Wi-Fi with default per-connection MAC randomization for better privacy.

But I did not understand this in their post:
Bluetooth LE tries to provide privacy for a paired device being carried around incl. MAC rotation. Wi-Fi does not.

So how can I enable it and if I use the second GrapheneOS Phone should I do Tethering, Wifi or this Bluetooth Low Energy (Privacy Extensions) ?

Can someone explain me please?

And I'm thankful to GrapheneOS about this Informations but how about a portable Router like Spitz AX (GL-X3000) from Gli.net? They have OpenWRT, WPA3, VPN, Wifi 6 and much more. And if I disable Wifi and just use Ethernet, is it bad too? I just want to learn and know how the most secure way would be, because I have only little knowledge about Bluetooth LE.

Android supports BLE privacy, but your device like headphones etc also needs to support it. You should check with the OEM and see if it does. Apple is the only company I’ve ever seen explicitly state that their products support it so you’ll probably have to contact the OEM over email or something to get an answer.

[deleted] the Bluetooth address is rotated periodically to prevent tracking. I think this article covers the topic in detail, if you want to find out more.

[deleted] Similar to WiFi devices, Bluetooth devices have a MAC address. BLE privacy randomizes this address on a fairly frequent interval, much more than your typical WiFi MAC address randomization.
