Falcon Hi friends! I'm currently testing different stores for me and I've noticed something very strange: The ProtonMail app version (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.protonmail.android) in the Play Store is 4.0.22.1 The version of this app through the Aurora Store is 4.0.24 How is this possible if AS is just a "frontend" for GS? WTF?
Probably9857 Falcon When I click on your link, I see version 4.0.24 So we can take Aurora out of the equation and just ask why Play Store shows different versions to different users.
flighty_sloth Falcon I've also had this happen frequently and I also attribute it to staged rollouts.
Probably9857 One possible explanation: staged rollouts https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/6346149 Could be something else though
Falcon My stupid brain didn't think about staged rollouts (per world region or per user group, maybe). Thanks guys! Cheers!
GOS21606 Protonmail is a FOSS app and it is possible to download it from Github (without Playstore): Version 4.0.24 [https://github.com/ProtonMail/android-mail/releases] When you need notifications then you need GPS unfortunately.
Falcon GOS21606 Yes I know, that's what I intend to use it for via Obtainium. Aurora Stora and GPlay were just part of the test...
