Got an abducted child alert even though I have all emergency things disabled?

I thought GOS blocked all of that stuff. Then my phone started beeping weird and showed an abducted child alert. I immediately thought, "what the Hell? I have all this disabled; this is really concerning, privacy-wise."

Are there just certain things GOS can't block or what?

You can disable emergency alerts, but your carrier can turn them back on remotely (which they probably did). To my knowledge this is an inherent AOSP thing.

If you don't use a SIM card or are always on airplane mode, it should stay disabled.

Emergency alerts won't really effect your privacy, if you want to not be connected to your providers network, turn on airplane mode
