Battery overheats to 38°C/100°F on standby

More if I'm playing a game or charging. I've seen 42°C. All my apps have disabled "Allow background usage" save for a few (telegram, Beeper, Mull browser, VPN app (Eddie/AirVPN), and base system apps like phone).

Battery itself feels like it's draining quickly. CPU battery usage is 30%. Despite that, I try to keep my charge around 40-60%.

Call it weird but I occasionally plop my phone in the fridge because I'm so worried about this...
If anyone knows anything about this please let me know

Maybe Settings -> Battery -> Battery usage may give you some clues?

The most is Clash Royale which I only open 2-3 times a day is at 14%. The rest are all below 5%.

I did notice that AyuGram (telegram client) was using 1.3gb of memory, which is odd... I've since killed it and went though Developer Options >> Standby apps >> change their "App standby state" to lowest possible option, with most at RESTRICTED.

5 hours later the battery's temperature is 30-32°C/86°F, this is okay right?‌‌ Especially since outside temperature is currently 40°/104

axl I don't have a temperature sensor, but my phone is usually just slightly above room temperature unless I use a heavy app. I have put most third-party apps to not be allowed to run in the background, so I guess that is generally a good idea to protect oneself from poorly coded apps draining ones battery. I did that in the regular app settings, I don't have developer options enabled.

This app can give more insight in hardware processes, including processor and battery temperatures. (If the phone hardware supports it)

Just, don't remove background permissions for apps you want to put in the background without closing, like music players, but also document editors, web browsers and other apps where you might be writing or browsing something and would be disappointed by losing that work just for switching to another app or leaving the phone unattended for a minute. But all the rest I removed background usage permission from.

Pocketstar Seconded, it's the one I use!‌ Other similar apps all seem to be outdated.
