Battery setting change on their own

I have an app, which drains my battery if left on background usage "unrestricted". On "optimized" it's fine. But, somehow it changes back to unrestricted _once a day - how is this possible? App is not getting updates, so not on update. Can it do it on its own? I'm not doing this - I'm just switching back to "optimized" over, and over again. No other app has this issue.

The app is Whoop (com.whoop.android).

DeletedUser43 Is it possible that when the app was installed it was granted elevated privileges? Maybe accessibility or device management?

My wifi data always toggles on when rebooted and this has been a thing for months and not been able to fix. Idk if the issue is similar to what is causing mine, but people have had these issues for months now without a solution. Hopefully it eventually gets fixed.

de0u I just installed it from Play Store. It's not under Security -> "Device admin apps" (even as an option). I also don't see it anywhere under accessibility. Extra info: problem started about a month ago, and if I disable "Allow background usage" it doesn't get back on, but this makes the app useless.
