Do i have to care about DNS?

When i always use some kind of vpn or Tor Service?
I think what ever DNS practise i do, the moment where i use a vpn or orbot, it does not matter anymore what i did with my DNS settings.
Is that right?

000000 whenever you use the private DNS option with any DNS server, it takes precedent over your VPN/Orbit connection and your phone will always send DNS queries to the PRIVATE DNS server (you have selected) without using the VPN/Tor tunnel. If you want to send your DNS queries through your VPN/Tor, don't use the private DNS option.

That being said, wait for a second opinion as I am nothing but another DUMB newbie here.

So just to be sure i understood right, this is what i understood:
If i use some sort of different dns dure to my settings, vpn/orbot will be bypassed. Or at least all the dns queries will be leaked to the dns server provider.

000000 right. If you use a PRIVATE DNS option and enter the server of the DNS resolver, it will bypass your VPN/Tor and you entrusted the DNS resolver with your DNS queries.
As PRIVATE DNS in android setting will take precedent over any VPN/Tor setting.
