I just got my pixel and am ready to install GOS I have the c to c USB cable, watched tutorials and read about android to android installs I downloaded several bootloader's, I am ready to take the plunge using web install. I know to unlock pixel developer mode, and use metal to metal surface contact between phones, full battery etc. is this set up going to work? I've seen plenty of successful tutorials and confident. I just just don't want to buy a PC and give Billy Gates my money. Am I missing something. Tonight or tomorrow night after testing the phone I do the install.

You don't have to use MS, you can use Linux. Officially supported Debian, Ubuntu and Linux Mint versions can be found in the Install instructions.

Web install is pretty easy to follow and very unlikely to go wrong. If a tutorial is needed/reassures you, then the only one thats probably needed is Side of Burrito's(please be aware, some tutorials will say to enable USB debugging, this is incorrect and unnecessary).

If any problems are encountered, then members of the GOS team/community can be reached on the Matrix or Discord channels.

It is generally best to work from the official installation instructions on the GrapheneOS web site. Some installation videos contain advice that is problematic.

Thank you so much. I did watch a side of burritos video. I was just going through my developer options on my old android while pixel is charging.

Android to Android is the least likely to cause you problems - there's no drivers or workarounds involved and the usb-c ports tend to be more reliable than some of the ones you find on laptops or desktop computers. It's not a big decision to make, chances are you'll install it just fine anyhow, and the web installer can be restarted at any point, your device is always safe using it.
