VPN blocks Material Files SMB connection

I am trying to connect to my local NAS with material files, but I keep getting the error "Permission denied".

If I disable my vpn (also the "Always-on" and "Block connections without VPN options") I can get it to connect. So I know its the vpn that is blocking it.

Does anyone have an idea if there are settings that can fix this? It might also be related to mullvad vpn, but I hope someone here has any experience with this and knows the answer.

You need to allow LAN access.
Edit: In the Mullvad app settings this is called Local network sharing.

This is correct, but you also need to disable "Block connections without VPN". Unfortunately.
