Theoneandonly The Signal protocoll has been upgraded to be resistant to store now decrypt later attacts for some time now. Does Whatsapp use this version or are they still on the old non quantom resistant version?
Pacienco Theoneandonly Meta have not yet detailed plans or progress for quantum resistance in WhatsApp, as far as I'm aware. When they do, they will likely talk about it in their engineering blog https://engineering.fb.com/tag/whatsapp/ and Will Cathcart's microblog feed https://x.com/wcathcart
Probably9857 Hard to say, unless they've announced something. Even then, it's not possible to verify. You would just have to trust them.
missing-root Whatsapp claims to use it, and maybe that is true. But a proprietary implementation of the protocol cannot be trusted. They may use it, and also send the keys to their servers. You cant know and so do we, ask their support
Carlos-Anso Its possible to reverse engineer apps to work out what they do and how. Can decompile apps to see their source code. As an example have a look at https://github.com/APKLab/APKLab
