Does GrapheneOS disable the diagnostics menu found on Pixels? The one you reach by dialing ##7287##

Xyveh Hello, I am a Pixel Pro 8 user. I tested this number on all of my accounts and it did not do anything, so it seems to me as though this feature is disabled :)

Based on reading around, I think the sequence is actually *#*#7287#*#*.

Entering it on my device makes nothing happen. I wonder if the issue is that the AOSP dialer doesn't know that code, or whether it is trying to launch a Google app that is missing on GrapheneOS?

Looking at few articles online I believe that "Repair mode" only works on a stock Pixel device and only in the U.S.

I gave my Pixel to a repair shop as the display was broken and needed changing (known issue with Pixel 8). It was still on warranty but the repair was done by a third party (local shop). They sent me a picture of "Pixel Diagnostics" running on the phone. I gave them the phone fully turned off and with the bootloader locked. Can the Pixel Diagnostics screen still be accessed without unlocking e.g. with the emergency call keypad?

Viewpoint0232 have you gotten the device back yet? They might of wiped it and unlocked the bootloader.

No, still waiting. But how can they wipe it if the bootloader was locked and they didn't know my PIN?

You can factory reset from recovery mode without having to know your pin/password.

Interesting. So it means if someone steals my phone they can just reset it and sell it? Because for iPhones that's supposedly not possible as long as you were logged in to iCloud.

Viewpoint0232 GrapheneOS is built with security and privacy in mind. It doesn't have any commercial anti-theft features. If that is your concern, the only viable option is iOS. Only that provides stolen device protection and FindMy (lost mode). To answer your question: yes, thieves will be able to simply reset and sell your phone as is.
