Hi guys, first of all...I use my Pixel 8a with Graphene OS as a normal smartphone.including google services ect. My question is if anyone also listens to music and audio books with their device and uses a USB c headphone amplifier? I want to use the Fiio Jade Audio KA1 with my wired Marshall headphones. How do you think it works despite graphene OS ?
USB C Headphone Amplifier in graphene OS Device possible?
I don't see why GrapheneOS would affect this at all. I'm not aware that GrapheneOS changes anything regarding audio
output from the USB-C port.
Disclaimer: I have no experience with that device, or headphone amplifiers in general.
If it works on PixelOS it will work here too.
Thank you for your answers. I thought this might conflict with the security settings on the USB C port. I'll just give it a try :)

You could certainly make it not work (by setting the port to charging-only or disabling it completely).
But GrapheneOS tries hard to maintain compatibility on par with the stock OS, unless it would inherently require compromising security - as in this case, giving you the option to use the USB port as you see fit, rather than assuming everyone needs it completely locked down.

I will post result here after i tryed it. If someone is interested :)
I use USB-C earbuds and USB-C DAC, both work great, as long as you plug them while the phone is unlocked. If you plug them while the phone is locked, the phone will ignore the USB-C device until unlocked. After that, you can lock the phone and use them no problem.

Yes, that would be the default behavior.
FYI, you can change that in Settings > Security & Privacy > Exploit Protection > USB-C port, by selecting "On".
You'll be losing some security benefits, so you'll have to weight the risks vs the convenience.
Fast answere.... Works like a charme... Perfect. :)
