I often prefer UTC because some Apps log data and I don't want to make inferences about me based on the clock.
An example is, if I tell my company I am using sick time, and then travel to an exotic island (for medical healing treatments), if I message a work colleage I may not want them to wonder why my new time zone is that of a tropical island. This time zone is primarily only used with this island, commonly thought of as a vacation island and little else is in that time zone.
If I keep the time in UTC, I really wish I could also see my local time. I am guessing Apps can query the local time as part of their instructions and this gets revealed in different ways including with text and messaging Apps.
Not having the local time on the phone display makes things more confusing for me. Is there a way to have both listed but keep the one programs query as UTC?
