The only thing that works on my Pixel 5a after last night's OS update is wireless network, and I can't make calls or send SMS over wireless. Have restarted and powered off several times and nothing brings back the phone's functionality. First problem of any type with this phone. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version of GrapheneOS or does anyone know if this is a problem being worked on?
Last night's update shut down Pixel 5a data, phone calls, and SMS
See https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/15819-grapheneos-version-2024091700-released/37 and following.
There is a fix in the pipeline.
Thank you very much!
the change that caused the issues is rolled back in https://grapheneos.org/releases#2024091900
Cheers!
This is going to sound silly as a follow-up but I've never had to do it and can't find instructions:
How exactly do you use the zip file linked above to manually update the OS to 2024091900?
Or I guess I can just wait until they push the new one out to auto update (kind of need to be able to make phone calls in the meantime however.....)

Ah right, thank you!

j_dulles It was in the Alpha and Beta channel when you posted. You could have switched to Beta temporarily and then gone back to Stable. They're the same production releases in each channel. In theory, the release channels avoid having regressions like this get to the Stable channel most of the time. We aren't sure why we didn't get any reports of issues of the major 5th gen Pixel issue in the around 24h testing period. It's something that hasn't happened like this before.
GrapheneOS Thanks for the detailed explanation! I have saved this in case it happens again! The new pushed update came through a couple hours ago so everything is good now. Gratitude to all of you for getting the fix done so quickly!
