Bluetooth toggle in Quick Settings / Notification Shade

I'm not sure when this behavior changed exactly, but when I tap on the Bluetooth toggle in Quick Settings, it brings up a dialog I must interact with to then turn Bluetooth on/off and to choose a wireless speaker. I remember in the past (up until several months ago?) the Bluetooth toggle would function the same way the Internet toggle does currently - one tap to toggle on/off, or a long-press to bring up a dialog with more options. I'm curious when and why did this change? Does anyone know a way to restore the tap-to-toggle functionality?

calpurtmun I believe this was an upstream change in AOSP. I'm not a massive fan of the new way either but it would have to be reverted upstream or the GrapheneOS team would have to make the change themselves. I may be wrong but I think that is the case here

Yes, this is AOSP and one of the worst decisions in Android development history. Very annoying

The Quick Settings menu is a mess, you have to swipe down twice to access brightness and they made it overall less convenient with these toggles that require multiple taps. Also, there's a weird shade that flickers in the background whenever some of these windows pop up. Hope this gets fixed in the A15 release next month.

They did this to make harder to turn it off because of the new air-tag functionality they plan to add.
