Purpose of Notification Permissions

Hello, I'm just wondering why notification permissions seem so profound. Is the content they share wholly accessible to the OS or other apps, resulting in something safes bad?

Or if an app pops up a notification, does that app gain the ability to see what else is on a user's screen?

Perhaps I'm over thinking this, and its merely to choose what you want to gain your attention?

I find the detailed Notification toggles really useful :-)

I have some apps where I want some specific types of notifications but not others. I try to absolutely minimize the number of notifications I get on my phone. Only have notifications that I absolutely need, like text messages, update and Banking-apps telling me about transactions on my accounts.

from my personal understanding:

You have control whether you want some minor app to clutter the notifications area
If "push" notifications are used, they go through Google servers, and you may not want Google to read all of your incoming text messages, for example.

traveller Unfortunately toggling off the notification on your phone doesn't prevent the notification from going through google's servers or to your phone, your phone just doesn't display it.
