Citizen22 This would not be the best thing for filesystem integrity, but I think if you hold the power button down for a bit more than a minute then the power controller scrams the device off regardless of what the OS thinks should happen.
Note that in order for the regular power-off menu to be cheating you, your device would need to be infested by somebody very well-resourced.
Edit: it would probably be safer for the filesystem to reboot into the bootloader (real or -- hypothetically -- stimulated) and then scram the device off.
