Speaker above front camera plays distorted, high volume audio

For about a day now, the speaker on top of the screen has been playing distorted audio at full volume, no matter what volume I have the media audio set at, tried rebooting a few times so far but to no avail, and it only has distorted audio for media, alarms play normally, and ringtones play normally

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

this sounds a lot like a hardware problem. if you're within a year of purchase i'd reach out for warranty repair.

I thought the same but it behaves really strangely, it plays the same REALLY LOUD distorted audio when the volume is on max or on minimum, but when you mute the volume it turns off, it doesn't seem to change the volume of the top speaker at all

okay, weird new development but, I read a post by someone else saying they got iron filings into their speaker port and to run a magnet over the speaker to collect the filings, I just did exactly that and it seemed to have resolved itself
