Are custom wallpapers possible on GOS?

Hi. Newbie here. Never dabbled in alternate OS, especially with mobile in mind. Graphene sounds nice just from a perspective of having less annoying popups and reminders from Google that its tendrils are wrapped around every corner of my phone. I don't despise the default OS but their implementation of some features is cumbersome and annoying.

All I really want to know (having verified with the GitHub list that my e-banking app is supported) is if custom wallpapers can be easily assigned. I'm familiar with the privacy concerns regarding the colour grab for accents but all I want is a custom wallpaper period. Black is boring and doesn't really do anything for me.

Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated!

offbrandbiscuit Most ASOP features are preserved on GOS btw, main things removed is anything from Google Play Services (so Google Play/Gpay/whatnot)

Thanks a bunch! Unrelated but been getting a suggestion by my phone to update to Android 14, will that version be a problem for installing Graphene?

you can change wallpapers and set your custom one under Settings> Wallpaper & style> change wallpaper

Murcielago Yes, although the bug that the wallpaper gets zoomed in or is not centered is still there for ages (upstream I think), especially with other user profiles.

I don't believe there would be issues, but it depends on whether you're planning to use Pixel OS for a while longer.
If you plan to continue using Pixel OS, update. If not, you can safely ignore the message

Updating is only truly required for an old pixel 6a because the version it came with out of the factory had a firmware bug that hindered you from OEM unlocking. It's nonetheless good practice and won't cause any problems with installation, you will also be on Android 14 (soon 15) regardless once you're running GrapheneOS.

Hello.
Maybe I'm missing something but when one hits "Change wallpaper" & gets through to the "Wallpaper" screen the only options you get are:

'Choose a wallpaper' with a link to My Photos
'On device wallpaper' which is black with zero option to change!!

the on device wallpaper being only black is expected as the black wallpaper is stock and comes as part of the OS.

Via Settings> Wallpaper & style> Change Wallpaper> My photos you can add your own, custom wallpaper.

I understood that I could add a photo background. It was about a single (lighter) color background which I'd hoped might be available
But OK ... Clear: you can have any color as long as it's black" :-)

I guess i get the irony but just to be sure: You can of course copy not only photos but any solid color background to your device and make it via ‘my photos" the background of your choice.
