Since I switched to graphene Uber would not allow drivers to go online with a GOS device, giving the error message "Unable to authenticate device"

As of yesterday this restriction has been removed and now works without issue, wondering if it was something Uber or GOS that changed?

Either way this is great news for GOS users, if Uber can do it there should be no reason other apps can't.

As far as my understanding goes developers can whitelist GOS to work with their app if they are using Google Play integrity or whatever is called. Id imagine that the Uber developers implemented that into an app update to allow us to use the app.

It would be great to have confirmation. I'm not aware of any app that has announced that they whitelisted GrapheneOS via hardware attestation.

that is sad to hear, I was about to start using my GOS phone as a daily driver but absolutely need Uber app as a passenger to work, so hopefully this is not an issue for customers too

Theres some chance its related to things you may have changed on the device. Apps have been known to enable anti-fraud if they detect things like - developer options, adb, app granted ability to act as accessibility service or device admin, uncommon keyboard active etc.

rellhom I haven't checked this recently but the last I heard the normal uber app works on gos. It's just the driver app that doesn't. You can also use uber in browser for getting a ride.
