Even though I loved F-Droid for a long time simply because they are really FOSS enthusiasts, because they remove certain proprietary libraries and because I know that at least some sort of checking for trackers applies I am about to move to Obtainium as soon as I find the time to reinstall my apps (due to different signatures).
What prompts me to do this is, on the one hand, a partially incomprehensible decision-making structure (which goes hand in hand with a lack of communication). For example, the new anti-features, such as the use of non-open source networks, which meant that OrganicMaps could not be found in the default settings, were not communicated clearly enough in my opinion.
The most important reason, however, is that the apps are not updated quickly enough and I don't want security updates not to reach me and only notice them when I actively research them. For example, Nextcloud Android is currently on 3.29.1 and not 3.29.3 and FairEmail is on 1.2225 and not 1.2227. F-Droid does not take hints about the outdated version of Nextcloud seriously due to a lack of responsibility.
I think it's time for F-Droid to rethink the update processes. Especially as the user is not notified when apps are no longer supplied with updates.
I am aware that I need to be careful with trusting the developer while using Obtainium, but that might help me with actually reconsidering my App choices.
