Bricked Pixel 8?

I purchased a Pixel 8 less than a year ago and spent a good number of hours tweaking the phone and getting everything ready to use it as my full-time driver. I was only waiting for RCS support from Apple since everyone I know is on iPhone and I have such a bad experience with photos and videos.

Recently, when I was tinkering with the phone, I received a message "System UI keeps stopping"
Prior to this I received a message, "System _Server has crashed"
I tried removing extra profiles, removing recently added apps from F-Droid

Since making these changes, my wallpaper had disappeared and I never can get to my home page with the icons on it, the phone just says Pixel is starting and never does bring anything up.

Now I have a black screen without any UI and only system menus seem to exist.
I've tried going back into developer mode in order to reset the phone with a new installation of Graphene or the stock ROM, but everything I add my PIN code I get a message "settings keeps stopping"

I sure hope there's a way to get back this phone, but everything I've tried is a dead-end.
(Half the time I can only get to functions because after the first attempt with my PIN the finger print option pops-up and I can get to some settings through my fingerprint).

Any help in getting my phone back would be greatly appreciated. I'm in my last 2 interest free payments and now I have a defunct phone. I've even tried the recue modes upon booting the phone wile holding down the volume rocker.

SHB sounds like hardware failure? You can try factory resetting the phone by following instructions here: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/4596836?hl=en#zippy=%2Cwith-your-phones-buttons-advanced (make sure to do the "with your phone's buttons (advanced) one)

I'd start there and see if you continue to experience issues after a factory reset.

SHB I'm not 100% sure I follow what you've tried so far, but if/once you have factory-reset the phone under GrapheneOS and the problems continue, and you have also flashed back to Google's stock OS and the problems continue, then I'm afraid something is wrong with the phone hardware.

If the phone is under a year old maybe it's under warranty?

Given the symptoms described, that seems unlikely. And if two updates haven't improved the situation, it seems very unlikely that any others will.

If the hardware is broken, then no amount of updating will resolve that. It would be unfortunate if the hardware had failed, but that does happen, and when it happens the hardware needs to be repaired or replaced.

other8026 and 23Sha-ger have suggested trying a factory reset. You wrote "That doesn't work"; I asked for details. So there is a suggestion on the table, namely reporting what about using Recovery to perform a factory reset doesn't work.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve tried the suggested recovery mode, but that doesn’t work. I can’t load a stock ROM because I can’t get the phone back into developer mode. I think the warranty is valid, but don’t think Google will help since I loaded Graphene on the Pixel.

I don't think that's a rule. But it might not matter: if you can't get it to do anything, sending it to them might be the only option.

There is no need for that. You can just factory reset the phone to default GOS install, i.e. wiping all settings
and data. This will put the phone in the same state as after first flashing it with GOS. Then if you want to
flash stock you can go to developer settings and enable unlocking, etc.
