WireGuard stopped working when connected to Pixel hotspot

Hi,

I recently noticed that I cannot connect using WireGuard from my laptop when using a Pixel 8 WiFi hotspot. I first noticed that my personal WireGuard tunnel was not working correctly. I thought that I misconfigured something, but after not finding any mistakes I tried with the Mullvad VPN desktop app and it also cannot connect. Both connections just work when connecting with another wifi connection instead of the Pixel one.

This is a recent regression, I would say since 2024082000 or 2024082200.

Anyone noticed this issue as well or can replicate?

iyanmv I had issues with Wireguard connectivity over mobile data (directly through a SIM card and via tethered connection via Pixel WiFi hotspot).

Connecting through normal WiFi (e.g. at home or public WiFi works fine).

This is not a new issue for me tho, was happening for a long time.

My guess is your mobile carrier changed something on their end that prevents Wireguard connection.

DeletedUser115 Yes, that seems to be the case here. I tried with a different eSIM and it works as usual. So nothing about GrapheneOS.
