Currently struggling with my toughts, signed up in here for second opinion.
Firstly, my next phone will be Pixel with GOS, but right now I'm using iPhone se 2020 as my 'main' phone, and OnePlus 8 with DivestOS (bootloader unlocked) as a 'secondary', no sim card, wifi only.
I realise that's not ideal by today's standards, but as IPSE is still supported, I don't want to buy another device for a year or so, but of course it depends on your opinion.
Moving on, I've got all the sensitive applications such as banking, passwords, auth, cloud, etc. on the main supported device. No problem with that, but since ipse is quite small with a mediocre display, and also drains the battery quickly, I use DivestOS (isolated microG enabled) installed on the unlocked OnePlus 8 for entertainment and general browsing/discord/watching/shopping through Mulch or dedicated apps, with all payments verified through the ipse banking app.
And this is where I'm having second thoughts, especially since the bootloader is unlocked. I believe my threat model isn't too high, and if the device were compromised, I wouldn't lose much very sensitive data. Also, apart from installing known applications from aurora/obtainium, I keep this device clean.
My question is, how delusional am I in my choices? Do you think I can continue to use my devices as described or should I speed up the purchase of a Pixel device?
I appreciate your answers. Thanks in advance!
