Hi guys,
Last several years i'm becoming more and more privacy-oriented.
I've switched all my computers from windows to fedora, and i'm selfhosting (almost) all services myself on a server in my basement (Nextcloud, Piped-instance (youtube), Jellyfin, Ollama, Own DNS-server, etc.).
Currently i'm rocking a Note 20 ultra from samsung, needless to say this is the 'weak point' (Privacy-wise) in my 'infrastructure'. I've been eyeing Grapheneos for 2 years, but couldn't justify financially yet to switch phones. I wanted to ride out the lifespan of the Note, and then switch to a pixel device, just for Grapheneos.
The note is still fine (and probably will be for several years to come). There is a local store which, when pre-ordering, will add a bonus amount on the trade-in value of 150 for the 9 and 200 for the 9 pro (xl). I have an old iphone laying around which i could trade in, just for the 150 bonus. And sell my note seperatly for approx €300. This would make me able to purchase a pixel 9 256gb in pre-order for approx €400-450.
Oviously, the only reason i would ever buy a pixel is for Grapheneos. I would never use a pixel stock. I wouldn't even get it out of the box before Grapheneos is released for the 9-series.
This brings me to the question, if the question could even be answered yet, is it guaranteed grapheneos will be available for the 9-series?
On a side note: Is the 9pro worth it for €150 more from a hardware perspective? I will never use google's ai features.
Thanks!
