Google Play Services Update Issue

Running Pixel 7 Pro w/ latest build and just received this notification:

Title: "Update Google Play services"
Message: "Google Play Services won't run unless you update Google Play services."

I thought GPS should only be updated through GOS Apps app so I've been ignoring the OS asking me to update.

Now I'm unsure if GPS is operating properly. Any ideas?

Kryptos if there is no update in Alpha/Beta channel of the listings in 'Apps', updating via Play Store should be fine. The OS restricts it from updating non OS compatible elements.

strcat: accepting updates to Play Store and Play services via the Play Store is fine because we set it not to update the version, so it just installs extra split packages for your locale, etc.

[UPDATE]

Our mirrors of Play services and Play Store for use with the sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer have major updates available via our app repository Beta/Alpha channels.

To help with testing, go to the page for each in Apps and use the 3 dot menu to select release channel.
