Read authorization for second user

I have created a second user account to install and use Google Maps.
To install the Aurora Store, I placed the relevant .apk in the Download folder. When I open this folder, it appears empty. When I open the same folder from my main user's account, the files inside are displayed. I assume my second user does not have read permission. How can I give him these rights?

Different user profiles don't have access to other user profiles' data. There's no way to grant one profile access to a folder in another profile. It can be annoying, but the whole point of profiles is to isolate them from each other.

If I need to move files between profiles, I usually use a USB drive.

Is this in the default Files app? I assume you're looking at the "Downloads" folder from the list? That only shows files with the Download tag. If you haven't downloaded the apk directly into the second user (aka you transferred the file separately), it won't show up there as far as I'm aware. If you select your device at the bottom of the list and then the Downloads folder, you should see it there.

i had downloaded from my computer and sent the apk to the smartphone via usb.
now i realised that, when doing so, my main account was active.

for my second try i switched to the new user and did the usb-transfer again. this time the file is accessable.
real-beginner mistake ...
