I noticed yesterday that I was no longer logged in. I assume this happened during the August 6th update but I can't be sure when the logout happened.
I did have the app set to check at 1 minute intervals but yesterday it was set to 5 minutes.
Just a heads up for anyone using the app.
I've gone back Sandboxed Google Play Service and Proton's mail app.

[deleted] not sure what you're trying to suggest with this, especially since rather than just logging back in to a perfectly fine app, you whole hog changed your approach into the one i assume you were trying to avoid in the first place.

I just checked I am still logged in and still have the custom poll timings as I set them.

[deleted] I don't know of anything about the update that would have caused an app to log out or change its sync interval as you have described.

[deleted] I have the same issue. After the most recent you-have-mail app update, I'm no longer receiving notifications from Proton mail. The reason I went to the YHM app was because I wasn't receiving PM notifications, but the app originally solved this.

I've tried clearing cache and storage on both apps, uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck. I'm relatively new to GOS and still learning as I go (first post here).

I'd love to get PM notifications working again, but not by signing into a Google account. This is on a Pixel 8 Pro.

I've missed two emails recently because the app failed to notify me. This is the reason I switched back to sandboxed gps.
Sure, I could log back in but what if this happens again? Do I need to check the app after every update?
I assume sandboxed gps will be more reliable.

What have you seen?

OS updates shouldn't affect how apps work. An app may decide to change on its own, but the OS has no way of looking at apps' internal settings and just changing stuff (like sync intervals for an email client). Or maybe there's some obvious thing I'm missing?

[deleted] ah OK that isn't what I understood either. In assumed you meant a GrapheneOS update. I'm up to date on You Got Mail and it hasn't logged me out. I get timely notifications since I installed it a couple of months ago. Its never been an issue but I would certainly suggest The notifications from the proton app via google would be 100% reliable - it just depends on what you want to install on your phone.

I didn't think I wasn't the only one having an issue.

You don't need to sign into a Google account if you are using Sandboxed GP and Proton's notifications are empty (it's just to wake up the app) so Google only knows you use Proton.

You do have to give SGP a few permissions:
Google Play Services - Notifications, Network, Unrestricted battery.
Google Services Framework - Network
Google Play Store - I allowed no permissions.

I wonder if Proton has blocked the app.
I looked at issues on YHM's Github. No one is having a problem.
You could roll back to the previous version and see if that works. At the very least it will tell us if it's the current version not working.

[deleted] I took your advise and rolled YGM back a version and the issue persists. So I guess it's something else. This is getting rather frustrating.

Okay this is weird. If I manually poll YGM, I get a notification that new mail exists. I'm not sure what to think at this point.

Out of curiosity I installed YHM again. After logging in it wouldn't poll for me.

[deleted] Another thing I noticed. YHM used to trigger a notification when the phone was restarted. That no longer happens despite notification permission being granted.

I just wanted to post a follow up. Suddenly YHM is working again. There has been both GOS and YHM updates, so I cannot state with any certainty which fixed the issue.
