Stop second profile going into "lockdown" mode

Hard to describe in words so I'm gonna show you guys the steps:
1) I'm unlock the second profile
2) I switch to the main profile
3) I switch back to the second profile
4) The second profile is now in "lockdown" mode

I don't really need the second profile to be in lockdown mode, mainly because it disables the fingerprint unlock. If an adversary is able to use my fingerprint to get into my main profile, protecting other profiles is irrelevant.

So is there a way prevent the second profile from going into the lockdown mode when switching profiles?

frisbee655 Is the "Allow running in background" toggle on? Settings, System, Multiple users, tap on the profile in question.

de0u Yeah that worked. But that is by no means ideal solution. I don't want a profile that has google services and other bs installed always running in the background. And I don't want it using the phones resources, since it would be slowly killing it overtime (cpu, battery, ram).
Anything else I can do? Or should I open an issue on github?

frisbee655 That's all I can think of to suggest. I suspect what you're running into may be how the system is designed to work: if the secondary profile is at rest, the fingerprint information may not be available. You can try filing an issue, but it might not go anywhere.

If you aren't allowing the profile to run in the background, when you leave the profile, it puts it back at rest. It's the same as using the "end session" feature for it. When a profile is at rest, you can't use biometrics until you first unlock it, similar as to how you can't do that for the owner profile after a reboot.

You guys are probably telling valid points. I am not gonna open the issue bc it's hard to implement (you will need to specifically save fingerprint info but not anything else, which is difficult). GOS devs have more important things to focus on.
