Using profiles with google services

I am a new GrapheneOs user.
As recommended in the system documentation, I would like to have two profiles - a main one without google services and an additional one with google services.

The simplest approach is to only use the Owner user profile. Apps installed in the Owner profile are sandboxed the same way as everywhere else and don't receive any special access. If you want to choose which apps use Google Play rather than making it available to all of them, install it in a separate user or work profile for apps depending on Google Play. You could also do it the other way around, but it makes more sense to try to use as much as possible without Google Play rather than treating not using it as the exceptional case.

How to do it ?
I install GPS in the main profile, install applications from the google store in both profiles and somehow disable GPS in the main profile ?

If the main profile (the Owner) is going to be the one without Google services, then why install Google Play there? Just install GPlay directly in the secondary user profile, and then install whatever apps from GPlay. GPlay doesn't need to be in the Owner profile at all, unless you want to use the Owner as an app installer (admin) profile and push apps to other profiles.

Dumdum Yes, I want to use the Owner as an app installer (admin) profile and push apps to other profiles. In the main profile I would like to install all the applications I need and a few of them to compare how they work without google services and with google services.

I've been using LineageOs for 2 years without google services, but I'm missing a few applications because they don't work properly without google services.

I use both FOSS apps and from Google store installing from Aurora Store.

Now I want to abandon Aurora Store and install apps directly from Google Play Store, so I need in the main profile the ability to install apps from Google Play Store, but without active google services and without for example push notifications.
In the secondary profile, I would like to have only apps from Google Play Store that require google services, e.g. ProtonMail app (without GPS, notifications from Proton do not work).

Can this be done ? Is there any tutorial for this ?

FOSS apps can be installed via other means though. I don't see a need for Google Play in the Owner profile, unless you intend on using more than one additional profile. Since you only want the one profile for Google Play apps, then you can just install Google Play directly in that profile. Are you trying to avoid a Google account being tied to the apps in your secondary account (e.g. Protonmail)?

If you absolutely want to have Google Play in the owner profile (for the reason of not tying a Google account?), then you can install it there but disable the 3 Google components (Store, Play services, Services framework) when you don't need them in Settings > Apps > See all apps. However, doing it this way will make it difficult to update as you won't be notified of updates. It may be better to simply use Aurora Store in the Owner profile, if you don't want to use Google Play directly in the Google profile.
