Phone favorites - tiles are excessively bright

I have noticed this change sometime ago, but didn't really pay much attention, however, it is becoming distracting. In the Phone app, under the Favorites tab, the contact tiles have very bright (washed out) background, which makes the text rather hard to read. When you press and hold one of the tiles in order to rearrange it, its colors normalize for a second. Not all tiles are affected equally. Seems like it might be a bug.

I do not think I have observed exactly what you report, but then again I can absolutely believe that, and it is seldom that I make phone calls anymore. Note the following:

The colors for the three Phone, Contacts and Messaging apps look now dated, even with the light theme,
That is worsened in dark mode, because the colors used there were never actually designed for a dark theme at all,
The original AOSP versions of those apps do not support a dark theme at all, and instead dark theme support was manually added by the GrapheneOS development team.
The GrapheneOS development team maintains those apps mostly just with security patches, and has been known to issue occasional QoL updates, such as a call recording implementation
That said, all 3 apps should probably be replaced at some point.

Yes, I forgot to mention it happens in Dark Mode.

Yes! That's is, but mostly in Favorites.
