Using Google account on Aurora Store/Play Store?

What are the cons of being logged into Aurora and Play with the same account? Is the risk of your account being blacklisted higher? I just remembered I'm logged into Aurora with a burner Google account (same one I use for Play) and I wonder what the security concerns are.

I've been using it logged in for a while without issues.
Being also logged into play wont put your account at more risk.

Logging into aurora store has the benefit of sending the device type to google thus being able to obtain correct versions of applications which is sometimes broken on anonymous account.
This issue is clear with google camera as the device type is very important there.

[deleted] so, like you say, there is no inherent danger of being logged into both stores? I used Google Play to install my banking apps, and the rest of the apps are installed through Aurora. Do you think this is safe enough?

Clark By logging in to Aurora Store you are risking the account being flagged by Google for suspicious activity or for activity that otherwise breaks their terms of service.

I'm personally a bit unclear on why you want to use both Aurora and Play Store. Surely the Play Store will suffice?

fid02 honestly, and it does sound silly, but I feel... dirty, relying on Play Store for most of my apps. I'm aware Aurora is just a frontend, but somehow I feel less tracked using it.

If you're comfortable with using Aurora, having both stores won't worsen the situation.

Clark You can also install your banking app from aurora if you prefer that.
Don't uninstall your current version, and update it from aurora when it has an update available. This will ensure that the signitures match because you cant update an app with a different signiture. This will make you sure of having the genuine version that has not been tampered with in any way.

[deleted] I would install it from Aurora, but the apps work much better when Google services are installed on the phone. So I'll let it stay this way and hopefully I won't run into any issues using both Aurora and Play.

Clark You could revoke network from them or in some cases even disable them to keep apps working that depend on them. Im however sure that you know what is best for you specifically.
