Is it possible to swap 2 profiles?

I have the regular Owner profile setup how I want it and a second profile for social stuff. Can I swap these so that the social one is the Owner profile and vice-versa? Would help immensely with what I am trying to accomplish.

43t34fg4 No, unfortunately not. You can't change which user is the admin on GrapheneOS, or Android in general. The only way to swap them would be manually.

treequell Well that sucks. Spent the past 3 days customizing my privacy profile (owner) and then social one, but apparently the app I use, Tasker, is reading stuff only from the owner profile and won't read ADB & stuff just for the non-owner profile. Such a headache.

43t34fg4 Yes, unfortunately. I do find it rather inconvenient to daily drive multiple user profiles, but some people seem to have more patience than me! The only thing you could try would be to back up one user profile, and restore it to another user profile. That said, the backup service Seedvault in GrapheneOS is highly unreliable, but you could always give it a go so long you're prepared for the fact that it might not work. I would start by trying to backup your owner profile, and restoring to a new secondary user profile.

treequell That was my next idea and was going to ask just now. If I could backup Owner profile and the 2nd profile. Clear the 2nd, restore the owner backup to the 2nd. Clear owner, restore the 2nd profile to the Owner.

Does the backup include apps, screen layout, etc.?

treequell Update to my above reply: Sooo, I was able to backup the owner profile and then made a 3rd profile to test the Restore of the backup. Worked fine enough. So I then went to backup the 2nd social profile but when I then go to my 1st/Owner profile and go to System > Backup > 3 dots at top-right > Restore, it keeps giving me this:

Everything has been done via USB-C flash drive. Owner backup to fresh profile restored owner fine. However, I cannot get the main one I need backed up to restore to the Owner profile. Is there a way to fully wipe/reset the owner profile without effecting the rest of the phone/2nd profile so that I can restore my social profile backup to the owner one as a fresh slate?

Sounds confusing, but I have:
Owner - profile 1
Social - profile 2
Owner2 - the test profile I made to restore the owner backup to.

Basically, can't get social profile (2) to restore as the owner profile.

Hmm, doesn't seem to like that! I have a feeling it isn't going to like restoring a secondary user profile in the owner profile.

Unfortunately not! The only way to reset the owner profile is to factory reset the the whole device. That's a disadvantage of the owner profile.

I have a suggestion: Why not run your two user profiles both as secondary user profiles?

You could take the following steps: First test the backup of your main profile by restoring it in another secondary user profile. If it works, then factory reset whole device to clear the owner profile, and the restore the two profiles to two different secondary user profiles. Would that work for your needs?
