I just want to say thanks to all of those who have contributed to the GrapheneOS project. I had been on iPhone since 2010 and jailbroken for nearly all of that time thanks to the control it offered me, and in particular the ability to record phone calls as I'm a terrible note taker and forget nearly everything moments after I hear it lol. But jailbreaking had stagnated and I found myself using an OS version that was nearly 5 years old in order to keep my jailbreak. After a possible security breach with my banking app I realized it was time to change. The custom ROM scene has grown quite a bit since I last investigated it in 2018/2019 and after a brief flirtation with CalyxOS, I settled on GrapheneOS. I've been so impressed by the attention to privacy and the various control I have over how my apps access my phone. And a call recorder! I thought I would be sacrificing too much in terms of compatibility and app use by moving to a more privacy centred OS, but as it turns out with the Sandboxed Google Play, I have the best of all worlds with the privacy compromises I can live with alongside the use of standard apps I've come to rely on.
So thanks to all involved! I just wish I knew was I was missing a few years ago!
