Pixel 9 or 8?

Does the Pixel 9 offer any tangible advantages over the Pixel 8 in regards to Privacy/Security/Graphene OS, or is it still too early to tell?

Similar to how the Pixel 8 has security advantages over the Pixel 7.

If anything I think we will see more security features in the 10 since that will use a completely custom chip for the first time.

I just don't see why the Pixel 9 would have more security features when it's basically just an iteration, and we just got lots of cool new stuff in the Pixel 8. So adding it in the Pixel 10 (if at all) makes more sense IMO.

As we all expect improvements in hardware upgrades then waiting for Pixel 10 makes sense.
BUT, using that logic, waiting for Pixel 12 is even better.
BUT then why are people here if you don't plan to use this great OS now, or in the VERY NEAR future [Pixel 9]?

Got the Pixel 8 on sale for €399 about 2 months ago so for that price it was no brainer. In my experience you can get the best deals for normal and pro around the time the A version gets released. If price doesn't matter then just wait a little bit for the 9.

I think the meaning is that the new custom SoC for Pixel 10 has probably been in development for several years. It would make sense for Google to put most of their resources on this completely new SoC, rather than implementing such advanced security features for a SoC (and foundry) they are going to leave.

As you can see here (Models --> Future), Google has abandoned G4, and puts all their efforts into making G5 (which will be introduced with Pixel 10). So the SoC in Pixel 9 will most probably be an iteration of G3.

There are currently huge sales on Pixel devices. Is better to wait for 9 or 10? They will include any security hardware improvements? Or getting Pixel 8 at this current sale is a great deal?
