Chase and Capital One bank apps are not working anymore...

Seems like the latest update broke some banking apps. At least this has been my experience so far.
Exploit protection compatibility mode is enabled.

+1 I don't have the chase app, but сapitalone doesn't work anymore. I will try to reinstall it, but it hasn't worked

+1, RBC app on pixel 8 no longer working. Exploit protection enabled. Just downloaded from play store now. It was working prior to latest update with exploit protection enabled

I'm having the same issue with Capital One (v 6.8.9) using a Pixel 7A. It worked prior to the latest GrapehenOS update (2024070900), and now it crashes. I tried the app on my Pixel Tablet before updating the OS and it still worked, then crashes after latest GrapheneOS update. I obtained from Aurora Store.

A while back I had to disable the Hardened memory allocator to get it working and had been using it that way without issue until now.

Confirming the same issue here with exploit protection compatibility mode enabled for the latest version of the app on Pixel Tablet. (Separately the app also failed to scan checks on Pixel Tablet, even though it works on my Pixel phone, but I can bring this up on another thread once the app works again. Seems to be related to the GOS camera from what I see in the logs. Finally made an account here just for this issue.)

Pixel 8 pro, my banking app doesn't work either though I use FNB. it worked prior to updating graphene. Cleared cache, no go, tried with both exploit protection on and off, uninstalled and reinstalled, no go.

The Capital One app on version 6.8.9 still works on my Pixel 6 Pro running 2024070201. I will upgrade to the latest GrapheneOS version and see what happens.

Storm Update; I'm now on 2024070900 and Capital One still works. I also tried Ally, Amazon Store Card, Discover, PayPal, and a local regional bank's app. All work just as they did before. My device still shows "Optimizing apps," but I doubt that makes a difference

+1 here TD banking app insta crashing for me right now all of a sudden today did all the nic naks played with all the settings uninstalled re installed ect glad its not just me I was worried for a sec !

Just wanted to update everyone on this. We are actively looking into it alongside help from community members like @DeletedUser370 and should be able to resolve this soon.

It seems that these banking apps are likely using a library that is doing a security theater check that's being triggered by a recent change. We're confirming it and will proceed to fix it accordingly.

Certain banking apps use a buggy anti-tampering library which was broken by a security improvement in the most recent GrapheneOS release. It wasn't reported during 2 days of Alpha/Beta testing. We've paused rolling it out to the Stable channel and we're working on resolving it.
