Multiple app stores on one user profile

On my main user profile I currently have Aurora store, Fdroid, and Obtainium all running. Some of the apps I've installed show up in all three stores even though I only installed them through one (for example: I installed Proton VPN through Obtainium, but it is listed in all three of my app stores under my installed apps).

Is this expected behavior, or will it cause problems, say, if all 3 app stores try to update Proton VPN?

If the APK has different signing keys (most likely when using different sources), then no there won't be any problems. Either way, Fdroid and Aurora allow you to ignore/blacklist apps if you're that concerned.

Also you don't really need to use Fdroid for app installation anyway since Obtainium supports installing from Fdroid.

tilion_silverbow The app store that was used to install a specific app will be the only one able to automatically update that app in the background. Unless you manually update that app with a different app store (as long as it has the same signing keys of course, otherwise it just won't work), that means from then onwards, that most recently used app store will be the only one able to automatically update that app in the background.

At least that is my understanding. Apologies if I have got anything wrong.

tilion_silverbow Ohh and to answer your other question, it is often expected behaviour for particular apps to still show up in the installed app section of all the app stores that have that app on them, whether or not they are the ones that installed that particular app, or are the current app store that keeps that app up to date. That depends on the app store in question. Also, as @Dumdum says, you can blacklist specific apps on Aurora Store and tick a box to ignore updates of specific apps on F-Droid
