Connect to TV using HDMI

I am using a HDMI to USB-C cable that I use for my laptop. Is it possible to connect a Pixel 6 Pro this way? Is there a setting or app I need to use to get this working?

GI1 I believe no Pixel before the 8 supports DisplayPort (thus HDMI) over USB-C. This could be confirmed via hardware specifications on Google's web pages.

No, only Pixel 8 series (and, probably, future models) will work with display out. You could probably use some kind of wireless casting app, but you can't use USB-C to HDMI or DP with the Pixel 6 series.

At the time, there was very little documentation by the dev about the DisplayLink app. Personally, I set up a separate profile in GrapheneOS for it and downloaded it through Aurora Store.

Out of several open source video player apps (VLC, mpv, just player, next player), VLC at the time was the one with an option "casting" that would display the video correctly on the television while using it with this setup.
