New User/Profile Settings

I have some questions about the profile configuration site.

1) Turn on phone calls & SMS: This is by default disabled. Does that mean I cannot use my SIM for mobile data or is that truly for phone calls and SMS? What is the benefit of that feature?

2) Disallow installing apps: That one is pretty clear to me and it should further harden the profile because no apps can be installed, correct?

3) Disallow installing apps from third party sources: How does this one differ from the other one?

Mobile data still works if that option is off. This is just to protect your calls and texts for security if you want. Like if you lend your phone to someone, or any other reason.
Yes. You can push apps to the profile using the owner profile
Yes. On Stock Android that means secondary users can't install apps from app stores not already on the phone. So if that option were enabled, a secondary user could install Google Play and all that, but wouldn't be able to install anything from Google Play.

There is no acces to your sim afaik, so no nothing
You can't install any apps from stores
Sams but from apk files

unwat Can you please clarify on the last point? Because on GrapheneOS Google Play Store is a third party the user could not install apps from it if the option is disabled?

Correct. Play Store doesn't come pre-installed so it's considered a 3rd party source by the OS.
