Often when I start Google Play, I get a message that it is reinstalling itself because I have switched system language. I haven't switched system language, it is in my native language all the time. The thing is, it never passes that screen. After a minute or so it just says something like "this is taking longer than usual, click here if you want to skip this for now. language may be inconsistent until this is completed".
Is this happening to everyone, or is there something wrong with my configuration that makes this happen? I always have to wait that minute until it shows the skip button.
Also, often then I open Google Play and click to check for app updates, and click to update all, it just starts a spinning wheel saying "Waiting" for each app, but seemingly never does the app update. Sometimes after I check back much later the app is updated, and sometimes it says "Update failed".
Is this expected? I have no issues like this at all with F-Droid or the built-in Apps app, or any other app store, just Google Play. I do not allow automatic updates in any of my app stores, because I want to update manually once a day. But this is not working well with Google Play it seems.
I have disabled background app usage and I never granted OBB functionality to Google Play, but it also didn't sound like I needed to grant any of those two things for Google Play to work.
