Can't see the "connect device" notification when I open Pixel Buds case

I've just bought a Pixel 6A to in install GOS on it and it was in a bundle with a pair of Pixel Buds A-Series.
When I tried them (before flashing GOS and on other android phones ), they connect (or show a notification to do so) as soon as I open the case but this is not the case with GOS, probably because of the sandboxed Google Play Services that I've installed that don't have all permissions by default.
I gave them Nearby Devices, Network and Sensors permission, and I even tried giving them Position one (even if it was something I would have preferred to avoid) but it didn't fix my issue...
Which permission am I missing to make the "instant-pair" feature of the Pixel Buds work?

With the lid opened, press and hold the button on the case until the light pulses to put it into pairing mode, and select it in the bluetooth scan list on the phone (or any other device) to pair. They do NOT have any dependency on gservices or proprietary software.

abcZ Do you mean that they would work as any other "common" BT headphones or that they will work in the fancy way they do on other android smartphones?
'Cause I'm pretty sure they do have the GPlay Services dependencies just for the "quick connect" feature.
Proceeding as you suggested would pair them as traditional bluetooth headphones (which is still fine but since I saw that feature on non-GOS phones and I assume it can be easily achieved by tweaking GPlay services permissions I asked here if someone has already managed to do that)

They ARE just a bluetooth headset. The other stuff is just convenience pairing that doesn't actually do anything useful.

abcZ OK then, I didn't know exactly how it was called and maybe I didn't explained myself properly.
I know I can use them as traditional BT headphones (that they are) and I know they'll sound the same. My question was how can I make that "convenience pairing" thing work in GrapheneOS with Sandboxed GPlay Services

Mr_Y I don't think that you can, and since pairing only happens ONCE, who cares?
