Hey
I have recently been trying to keep my phone on airplane mode do stop it from pinging cell towers. Today I kept airplane mode on the whole day, but kept WIFI enabled. When i checked my battery usage under Settings>Battery>Battery usage>View by systems, i found that "Mobile network" had caused 20% of the battery drain. How does this make sense? As i understand airplane mode it disables the cellular radio of the device and as such no battery drain should be caused by connecting to a mobile network. Are more functions other than those disabled by turning on airplane mode included under "Mobile network" that i am not aware of?
