Play Services & social apps like SnapChat/IG actually private on GOS? How so?

Basically, same as title. I have decided I will have 2 phones. 1 phone I already have is fully private, no downloaded apps except my privacy-focused VOIP app & Signal, etc. The other phone will be my daily driver, which I plan to have a 2nd profile (if that's even needed?) with Play Services or whatever is needed for SnapChat & maybe IG to work.

How does GOS make the phone private still if these things are added to it? What's the process? Thank you!

GrapheneOS can't transform a privacy-invasive app into a privacy-respecting app. GrapheneOS provides a variety of security and privacy enhancements, which can, for example, reduce the likelihood that somebody can attack a device through various apps, including privacy-invasive apps.

But without a clear threat model of what information is to be concealed from whom it is not possible to say whether use of various social media could be "private".

Why use two phones instead of just one phone with profiles?

wuseman Because I feel like having Services or any socials automatically compromises the phone. So on my daily driver phone, that would be fine. But not the dedicated phone for privacy.

Why would that compromise it? The profiles are isolated from one another. You can use separate VPNs on them all to conceal your IP, etc.

If you mean "compromise" as far as privacy data goes just use separate profiles with strict permissions or better still wait for the app communication scopes feature which im sure our great developers will pump out soon enough.

The data vultures are so sophisticated now that it would be easy to slip up even with 2 devices.
